GCC Secretary-General, Abdullatif al-Zayani, briefed Saleh with results of his talks with the leaders of Yemen's ruling party and opposition coalition.
He urged Saleh to first sign the deal as the chairman of the ruling party, and then sign it as the president. But opposition leaders have refused such terms, insisting Saleh sign the deal as the president only.
The opposition seeks to dissolve the ruling party after Saleh's resignation. Protests have plagued Yemen since February, with the overall death toll topping 170.
