US surgeon takes Ukrainian crocodile’s woe close to heart

A surgeon from the US has offered to lend a helping hand to a crocodile that swallowed a mobile phone in a Ukrainian zoo.
The incident happened last December, when a visitor dropped her phone into the crocodile's cage.
Since then, the reptile has been refusing food and water.
Local doctors decided on surgery after other options they tried failed.
The American surgeon, who happens to be of Ukrainian origin, has been operating on alligators for 17 years.
Now the zoo is hoping he does not ask too much money for his services.
