The Islamist group "Al-Shabab" has solemnly handed out humanitarian aid to starving people in Somalia, claiming that the food had been sent by "Al-Qaeda."
In the refugee camp, thirty miles from Mogadishu, they have distributed food, scarves and copies of the Koran.
Last week, the staff of the International Red Cross was the first to deliver a cargo of food aid to the port of Kismayo in southern Somalia under the control of militants from the group "Al-Shabab."
According to the Red Cross, the operation was preceded by tough negotiations with the Islamists of "Al-Shabab."
In addition to food, seed and fertilizer are to be delivered to Somalia to help hundreds of thousands of farmers and the poor.
According to the UN at least 750,000 people are starving to death in Somalia.
