Jailed Bahraini opposition leader Hassan Mushaima (pic) suffers from cancer.
The Bahraini regime has denied treatment to detained opposition leader Hassan Mushaima, who is reportedly in dire health condition, Press TV reports.
Bahraini human rights activists said on Friday that prison officials have not allowed Mushaima to receive treatment despite his deteriorating health detention.
His family said the senior opposition leader is gravely ill.
Meanwhile, anti-regime demonstrators flooded the streets in Bahrain's eastern city of Sitra to voice support for detained leader and demanded his immediate release from jail.
The opposition leader, who suffers from cancer, was sentenced to life in jail in March despite his sickness.
Rallies have also been reported in several villages and towns around the capital Manama, where protesters have been renewing their call for the downfall of the ruling Al Khalifah family.
Demonstrators also voiced solidarity with anti-regime protesters in Saudi Arabia.
The latest rallies come despite a heavy Saudi-backed security crackdown across Bahrain.
Scores of people have been killed and hundreds more have been arrested in the brutal crackdown of Saudi-backed Bahraini regime forces on peaceful protesters since anti-government protests in the Persian Gulf kingdom in mid-February.
