Somalia: Fighting Erupts in Belet-Weyn Town

Belet-Weyn — Heavy fighting between Shabelle Valley administration and al shabaab fighters has broken out in west of Beledweyn town of Hiran region in central Somalia, witnesses said on Wednesday.
Witnesses said that the fighting started as al shabaab fighters attacked military bases of Shabelle Valley administration near the town where at least 5 of the warriors killed adding that several others injured.
Abdiweli Hassan Jima'ale, one of the high officials of the Shabelle Valley administration told Shabelle radio that they lost one lost soldier in the fighting while two others wounded asserting they killed 4 men from the extremists.
"The al shabab carry out blasts in the town at the night time, but now, there are plans that both the administration of Shabelle and the people of the town require to collaborate for assuring the security of the town," said Mr. Jimale
There is no comment over the fighting between the two sides from the shabab fighters so far, but we shall keep updating you for any further details about the news.
