The Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) has a new head following a mini police reshuffle Wednesday.
Boniface Mwaniki takes over from his former boss Nicholas Kamwende in changes by Commissioner of Police Mathew Iteere.
Mr Kamwende has left ATPU to pursue further studies at the National Defence College (NDC), Karen.
"These are normal transfers targeted to fill positions that had been vacant," said Criminal Investigations Department (CID) director Ndegwa Muhoro.
The new Rift Valley PCIO is Mr Francis Njiru who has been transferred from the Operations at the CID headquarters.
He has been replaced by Zachary Tum.
Xavier Mbogo is the new Eastern PCIO while Samwel Nyabengi has been moved to Western in the same capacity.
He replaces Lilian Kiamba, who has been moved to Complaints section at the CID headquarters.
Mary Auma Kaol moves to Interpol Nairobi Bureau where she has replaced Mr Vitalis Okumu. Mr Okumu is the deputy head of the Anti Narcotics Unit. Ms Kaol was attached to Interpol in Lyon since March 2006.
Former Coast deputy PCIO Paul Ndambuki has been seconded to Lyon, a position earlier held by Mary Kaol.
Forensic Document examiner Mr Antipas Nyanjwa has been transferred to the CID training school as an instructor, while another  Document examiner Emannuel Kenga now moves to the City Council of Nairobi.
