From Saudi Gazette: Police told to pay SR152,700 for wrongful detention

The Administrative Court of the Board of Grievances in Jeddah has asked the Jeddah Police to pay SR152,700 to a plaintiff who was left in jail without trial for 1,018 days – almost four years - and was not referred to the court because the police had forgotten him.

The plaintiff, Abdul Raheem Al-Juhani, filed a complaint at the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP.) He was accused of stealing a car and was jailed.
