Last year, there were 67 reported executions in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia]-----A woman convicted of performing socery in Saudi Arabia, was reportedly beheaded in the Province of Jawf on Monday for her 'crime.'
According to NDTV, Amina bin Abdullhalim Nassar was found guilty of trying to heal people with witchcraft, which is one of the many things banned in Saudi Arabia.
This brings the number of beheadings for 2011 to a shocking 73 and efforts by Amesty International and the United Nations to get the conservative Muslim Kingdom to outlaw beheadings by implementing an "immediate moratorium on executions" have been futile.
There is a reported 150 people on deathrow currently and their crimes could be anything from murder, rape to armed robbery, drug trafficking, or apostasy--which means simply giving up one's religion--all considered serious offenses punishable by death under Sharia Law.
No one knows exactly how many of the 73 executed this year or the reported 27 in 2010 and 67 in 2009 were women but one woman was beheaded in October, convicted of burning her house down which allegedly killed her husband.
