Police in Northern Ireland have launched a huge security operation after two bombs detonated in Northern Ireland's second largest city, Londonderry.
The police have accused Irish Republican Army (IRA) dissidents of placing the bombs and have reported no injuries so far.
The two bombs exploded within ten minutes of each other in streets near the largest shopping center in Londonderry, which is locally known simply as Derry.
The bombs went off on Thursday 19 January, one day before a court issues judgement in the trial of two suspected IRA dissidents accused of killing two British soldiers back in 2009.
Moreover, earlier this week, Northern Ireland's police discovered a pipe bomb in the capital Belfast, which they claimed had been planned to be thrown at them while they were dealing with a fire nearby.
The recent bombings in Northern Ireland have raised great concerns as the country has seen an upsurge in the number of bombing events. The police continue to point the finger at dissident republicans.
