Palestinian artist Jamal Badwan has created the world's largest oil painting in Ukraine to promote peace and friendship among all nations.

The painting was warmly received by art lovers in the capital city of Kiev, where Badwan has been living for the past twenty years.

“I have organized many events before, but I have never had this many people show up,” Badwan told Press TV.

The painting is twenty meters long and fifteen meters wide is expected to enter the Guinness Book of World Records and to break the previous record, held by a Dutch Artist.

Badwan says the artwork tries to express equality and incorporates paintings by children of different countries.

“We have incorporated talents of many children from around the world [in the painting],” said Badwan's wife Tatyana Badwan.

“We asked them to paint peace and the paintings say a lot about how they view peace,” she added.

The painting has cost the artist, four years of time, about $ 65,000 in cash and half a ton of oils.

The painting has already grabbed the headlines across the globe with many countries including Russia, Belarus, the United Arab Emirate and the Netherlands inviting Badwan to showcase the work in their countries.
