Al-Shabaab set fire on relief food in Barewe, Lower Shabelle

Rebel leader set fire on sacks of relief food
Al-Shabaab rebel group in Barawe town of Lower Shabelle has on Sunday reportedly destroyed ICRC relief food meant for the needy families in the area.
Reports say rebel leaders set fire on over 1800 sacks of beans at an open field on Sunday afternoon. The destroyed beans is said to be part of ICRC relief aid that was earlier delivered in the region.
Rebel leaders who address the public claimed that the beans were poisoned. But locals told Bar-kulan that rebel leaders tabled no evidence to substantiate their claim.
Al-Shabaab has earlier banned aid agencies from delivering much needed humanitarian aid in areas under jurisdiction. Just recently the group has banned 16 aid agencies from operating in areas under its control.
