Somalia: The New Prime Minister Welcomed

Nairobi — The deputy parliament speaker of Kenya Farah Mo'alin said on Monday that Kenyan government has congratulated Abdi Farah Shirdon as the Somalia's new prime minister.
While giving an exclusive interview with Shabelle Media Network, the deputy speaker encouraged the new PM to set up a transparent and accountable government, to move Somalia out of the long-running crises.
"Kenya will work together with Somali government to stabilize the horn of Africa nation that ridden by two years of instability following the collapse of former military regime led by Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991," he added.
Kenya has sent troops in Somalia in mid-October, 2011, to pursue Al shabab fighters, whom Nairobi blames for string of attacks and kidnappings against foreign aid workers in its soil.
in recent months, Somalia's transition process has seen the adoption of a new constitution, the convening of a new parliament, and the selection of a new president.
