Eritrea has tightened its border security over fears or popular revolts rocking the Arab world.
And the US and Australia have advised their citizens to avoid any travel to Eritrea due to a growing security concerns in the region.
According to US State Department, American citizens should be aware of the danger of travelling inside Eritrea or around the Red sea water territory.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs' website carries a travel warning reiterating the US advice.
“We advise you to reconsider your need to travel to Eritrea at this time due to the dangerous security situation, the threat of terrorist attack against Western interests and the risk of sudden instability and violence,” reads the website.
Daily propaganda
Eritrea, the most isolated country in the region, has intensified its border patrol and surveillance following the widespread unrest in Arab countries that have also been reported in neighbouring Djibouti and Yemen.
Meanwhile, Eritrean state media have launched strong anti-US daily propaganda following the forced resignation of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak.
The Eritrean Government has recently been reluctant to grant any diplomatic travel permits, a situation that is likely to continue for sometime.
