Kenyan government through the ministry of foreign affairs has requested the US, UK, Norway, Finland and Germany to stop funding activist rights organisations; Haki Africa and Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri).

However, the British High Commission dismissed the claims.

The US also refuted the allegations, “The United States stands for the right of civil society to operate freely, and for the right of every Kenyan to take part in building Kenya’s future.We should all join hands with the civil society to build a more open, just, tolerant and prosperous world,” Said Robert Godec, Kenya, US Ambassador.
