Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan recently offered his take on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposed temporary ban on allowing Muslims to enter the United States.
Speaking to radio host Alex Jones, Farrakhan said “no Muslim leader had the power to unite the whole Muslim world,” but that U.S. policies “united people against the West.”
“So in this way, Mr. Trump I think is wise to vet anyone coming from that area into America because the hatred for America is in the streets now,” Farrakhan said. “So if those people are refugees and America feels, ‘I got to let 10,000 of them in,’ because America created the problem.”

“Now, if you let them in and you don’t vet them carefully, you might be letting in your own destruction,” said
Farrakhan also chastised Trump for saying “very negative things with Mrs. Clinton and her husband” in his campaign. “I think it’s dangerous for the future of politics and for the future of America when we become uncivil in our discourse,” he said.

Farrakhan has focused on Trump before. In comments made last year while observing the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, Farrakhan said Trump’s slogan to “make America great again” was a sign that God is judging the United States.
“… Trump is saying we got to make America great. How? When? Again, because she is not great today. People are not afraid of her. ISIS and ISIL over there, they want America to send some troops back so they can send them back in body bags,” he said. “People are not afraid. The world has taken enough of America’s evil. So death is sweeter to some than continuing to live under white supremacy and under tyranny.”
Last month, Farrakhan spoke about America electing Trump.
“You’re headed into the abyss of hell, and if you make a mistake in choosing your leaders, maybe you’ll go there faster,” Farrakhan said.
