Policewoman shot in Gold Coast tavern armed robbery

    A POLICEWOMAN is in a serious condition in hospital after she was shot responding to an armed robbery at a Gold Coast tavern.
    Police attended Pacific Pines Tavern after a call was made to triple-0 that three people armed with guns were threatening customers and staff about 10.30pm.
    Up to seven offenders are believed to have been involved.
    It is believed an officer was shot while police approached the building. The officer, believed to be female, has been taken to Gold Coast Hospital and was reportedly in a serious condition.
    It is believed the robbers fled into nearby parkland. Two suspects were apprehended by police.
    Police have cordoned off several streets in the area and an extensive search is underway in nearby bushland for other suspects.
    Police were also seeking two sedans, one dark-coloured and the other blue.
