A bathtub shown on the sides of the Dubai International Jewelry show was sold for about $1.75 million on Saturday, a newspaper reported.

Described as “the first of its kind in the world,” the bathtub is said to be carved with precious and healing stones.

“Le Grand Queen” Bathtub sold to a buyer, who requested anonymity, is a piece of luxury unparalleled in the world, Rica Bereesa, Director of Marketing and Sales at Kaijo, manufacturer of the bathtub, said, according to the Dubai-based newspaper Emarat al-Youm.

“The ancient Chinese and Egyptians, the Arabs realized thousands of years ago, the beauty of this stone and its therapeutic significance,” Bereesa said, adding “an enormous energy derived from the earth and the universe was stored in the stone over millions of years.”
