Kajiado governor unveils Sh4.3 billion budget

Kajiado, Kenya:  Kajiado County’s Sh4.3 billion budget for the financial year 2013/2014 will be tabled in the County Assembly this week.

Governor David Nkedianye said they factored in public views in allocating funds to various sectors.
“The public forums were aimed at promoting budgetary transparency, accountability and effective financial management,” Nkedianye told The Standard on phone.
Infrastructure has been allocated the biggest share at 40 per cent. Environment and natural resources, education, health, agriculture, trade development and regulation, culture and social services, finance and economic planning were allocated Sh245 million, Sh170 million,  Sh125 million, Sh85 million, Sh50 million,  Sh30 million and Sh20 million.
