For Leyla Ozlahlan, her dream of performing hajj finally came true as she found herself in Mecca at the age of 110, according to a report aired on Al Arabiya.

The old woman had long-wished to perform pilgrimage in the holy city but these past five years her eagerness intensified.

Özlahlan, who came to perform hajj with her 80-year-old son, miraculously had her name chosen among the lists of people who could travel to Mecca for hajj from Turkey.

Al Arabiya caught her on the streets of Mecca shopping by herself.
She said that being raised in the countryside and on a farm made her a strong woman.

She is unable to express her joy and would sometimes cry, other times laugh, when speaking of her dream coming true.

“Just like I asked God to fulfill my wish of perform hajj, I wish for him to fulfill my desire to die and be buried in Mecca as well,” she said.

Her long life is not a matter of a healthy lifestyle as much as it is a result of her steely will and determination to keep going until she has performed hajj. She says now that she has done so, she does not want to keep her record-age.

She had finished walking around the Kaaba, one of the first steps of hajj and said she comes to Masjid al-Haram to pray.
