At least twenty -five more children have died of diseases and lack of medicines in Somalia, engulfed by disasters of drought and famine as well as conflict, Press TV reports.
Doctors said on Friday that the deaths occurred in the Dhobley town in southern Somalia where thousands of people are fleeing shortage of drinking water and food and lack of security.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned in late September that the humanitarian situation remains "highly critical" in Somalia.
"The situation in Somalia remains highly critical. Hundreds of thousands of Somalis are still displaced from their homes in search of security and food," the ICRC said in a statement.
Meanwhile, three civilians were killed and 28 others were left injured when gunfire broke out between unidentified gunmen and Somali government troops in Dhobley town.
In another incident of violence, more than 17 people lost their lives and 40 others were wounded during heavy clashes between al-Shabab fighters and government forces in Gedo region in southern Somalia.
A high-ranking Somali official and his four guards were gunned down in Las Anood town in the south of the country.
Somalia has not had a functioning government since 1991, when warlords overthrew former dictator Mohamed Siad Barre.
