HARLINGEN - A man who just wanted to move his house died Tuesday.

The owner of the mobile home hired a crew to move his house to another location. It was moving day for Arnulfo de la Rosa, his wife and three children. The workers were in the process of jacking up the structure so they could load it onto the moving truck, but they say the homeowner crawled underneath for some reason. The house was still unstable.

“He knew that we were going to lift the house. He had to remove the duct, but he knew, too, when it was secure. Like I said, we had no idea he was under there at that time,” says mover Guillermo Deleon.

Neighbors say de la Rosa was always willing to help out others around the park.

“He was a real good, standup guy, do anything for anybody, give them the shirt off his back, one of those type of guys. Good-hearted person, we're going to miss him,” says neighbor Jack Jimenez.

Investigators with the Cameron County Sheriff's Department say they are ruling the case an accident.
